| Top tips for displaying your portraits |
| | Framing prints We often get asked the best way to frame and display prints. We do offer a framing service, but if you did want to frame the prints yourself we recommend the following. Use the folder provided with your print as a mount. This will make the display more prestigious. Simply fold the cover back on itself (or trim off) and place in a frame one size up so if the image is 10x8 size, use a 12x10 frame. Beware that some frames are metric equivalents so you may need to trim 1 or 2 mm from the edge of the folder. |
| | Where to hang your portrait Do you want the portrait to be the focal point of the room? If you do then above the fireplace or a sofa usually works best. Otherwise chose another location. The size of the portrait should depend on its location and viewing distance. Placing a 10x8 above a sofa on its own generally looks disrespectful to the subject as a three seater sofa usually takes a 30" image or larger for the portrait to look right. Place a 10x8 on the window sill, a bookshelf or hallway with other images and it looks the part. |

| Digital photography masterclass - how to get better holiday photos. | The Easter holidays are nearly upon us and we can offer you some advice for taking great photos. Remember the larger the photo resolution the better the quality print you will end up with. This will require you to have a larger memory card to store them in, so always get the largest card you can afford or have a second one to hand. Would you like to hear more of our advice and tips on digital photography - ranging from simple computer skills to consumer camera tips? We're holding a one hour digital photography master class for our customers on the evening of Tuesday 27th April followed by cheese and wine.
